Reduce, reuse, recycle, rethink
May 25, 2009
Ecology Action has brought a beautiful, big recycling bin to Zilker elementary school as part of a new outreach program they’ve got in place. It’s got separate bins for glass of all colors and plastic and aluminum. It’s for the school and for the community at large to utilize because while Austin has a single stream program in place, it hasn’t proven to be a very eco-friendly system with its shipping and storage of materials far, far away.
So, this giant bin is up at school and in an effort to celebrate it’s presence a bit and make it a little more eye-catching, we had a group up there this weekend to paint it led by the very Eco-action minded and Eco-action employee, Brent. And while I could type for hours on how fun it was and how great it looks and how smooth an operation it all was, I instead will just show you. Thanks Ecology Action! We love it!!!

WOW!
This is AWESOME
I want to recycle in that bin !
It’s so much cooler to have a colorful bin and for some reason it just makes you want to recycle everything just to use it

You can send your bottles from France! And we’ll put them in there for you.

This is so cool!
Wish I lived in the city so we could do something like that!
(Ok not really like but maybe we could visit! LOL!)
